How Can I Become a Christian?
Becoming a Christian is the most important decision you can ever make in your life. Who your mate will be, what you will do in your career and where you will live are not as important as this one decision. We invite you to read through the following points and make the decision to follow Jesus with the way you live your life.
- God loves me and has a great plan for my life
For GOD so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
"I have come that they may have life, and have it more abundantly." John 10:10
- Man is sinful and separated from GOD
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of GOD.
- Sin has a penalty which must be paid
For the wages of sin is death…
…man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment.
- JESUS CHRIST has paid the penalty for my sin
But GOD demonstrates His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, CHRIST died for us.
GOD made him (CHRIST) who had no sin to be sin for us, so that we might become the righteousness of GOD.
2 Corinthians 5:21
- Salvation is a free gift to me
For it is by grace you have been saved, though faith… and this not for yourselves, it is the free gift of GOD… not by works, so that no one can boast.
- I must receive JESUS CHRIST
JESUS answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the FATHER except through ME."
Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of GOD.
JESUS said, "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with Him, and He with me.
- Here is my Prayer
Heavenly FATHER, I am sorry I have sinned. Please forgive my sins; JESUS, please come into my life. I give myself to You. Thank You for doing these things. Amen.
- My Assurance of Salvation
JESUS said, "And this is the testimony: GOD has given us eternal life and this life is in His SON. He who has the SON, has life; he who does not have the SON of GOD does not have life."
2 John 11:12
I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life."
If you have completed these steps and asked JESUS to become your Savior, WELCOME TO THE FAMILY! Now, you must take action to make this commitment a daily part of your life. That includes:
- Reading the Bible, GOD's WORD every day
- Praying for guidance
- Getting involved in a local group of believers (a church)
